Removing the Old Headlight
First, open the hood and locate the dust cover behind the headlight assembly. Open it to reveal the screws or clips securing the headlight; loosen them with a screwdriver. Some models require removing part of the front bumper first, which is slightly more troublesome and requires patience. After loosening the securing device, gently unplug the power connector behind the headlight; the entire old headlight can then be removed.
Installing the New LED Headlight
Place the new LED headlight into its original mounting position. If the original headlights were halogen, many models require a special dust cover because the LED headlight's cooling fan protrudes. Connect the power connector and test the lights to ensure correct polarity before proceeding. Once confirmed, tighten the screws or clips, ensuring the headlight assembly is completely secure.
Inspection and Adjustment
Finally, replace the dust cover, start the engine, and turn on the high and low beams to check the lighting effect. LED lights typically have a different beam pattern than halogen lights. It's best to check the cutoff line against a wall at night to see if it's clear and if there's any scattering. If necessary, adjust the beam angle according to the instruction manual to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers.
